主講人簡介：

Dr. Tong自2022年1月起擔任佐治亞理工學院化學與生物分子工程學院的終身副教授及James C. Barber Faculty Fellow。她于2025年當選為美國化學工程師學會 (AICHE) 會士，并于2024年當選為國際木材科學學院 (IAWS) 會士，現任佐治亞理工學院可再生生物產品研究所 (RBI)在食品-水-能源關聯領域廢物資源化利用的項目負責人。此前，她自2010年起在佛羅里達大學擔任助理教授及副教授。2007年，她在佐治亞理工學院獲得化學工程博士學位，隨后于2007-2009年間在CH2M Hill公司任職。她的研究重點包括：1) 合成功能性可持續材料；2) 通過催化轉化從可再生資源中制備生物化學品和生物燃料；3) 數據驅動的過程控制與機器學習。她已發表80多篇論文和4項專利。

Dr. Tong has been an Associate Professor and James C. Barber Faculty Fellow in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech since January 2022. She was selected as a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) in 2025 and a fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) in 2024. She is the initiative leader in waste valorization in the food-water-energy nexus of the Renewable Bioproduct Institute (RBI) at Georgia Tech. Previously, she served as an assistant and associate professor since 2010 at the University of Florida. She earned her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech in 2007, followed by work at Ch2M Hill until 2009. Tong’s research focuses on 1) synthesizing functional sustainable materials, 2) catalytic conversion for biochemicals and biofuels from renewable resources; 3) Data-driven process control and Machine learning. She has published over eighty journal papers and 4 patents.
